Frequently Asked Questions
Foil Drive Fusion
Yes. The Fusion is ideal for learners thanks to its longer runtime, smooth power delivery, and optional tilt sensor that automatically cuts the motor if you fall. It allows riders to progress at their own pace with added confidence.
The Fusion 860 Battery (864Wh) offers approximately 1 to 3 hours of runtime, depending on rider weight, conditions, board setup, and how much throttle you use.
The Fusion delivers similar power and runtime to an eFoil, but without locking you into a single riding style. You can switch cable lengths and ride it as a powerful foil assist, giving you far more flexibility across surf, wing, downwind, wake, and flatwater.
The Fusion delivers around 40% more power and thrust compared to previous Assist systems, making it better suited for heavier riders, smaller boards, higher speeds, and more demanding conditions.
The Assist MAX is the all-rounder that balances power, weight, and runtime for all riders and disciplines. It is lighter and more versatile, making it ideal for everyday use and travel. Assist Slim is the lightest system and ideal for shorter, more agile sessions, while the Fusion provides maximum power and runtime, offering eFoil-like performance for longer sessions or heavier riders, but it is heavier overall.
Yes. That's exactly what it's designed for. By adjusting your setup (primarily cable length), the Fusion transitions between a high-power assist system and an eFoil-style riding experience.
Each Foil Drive system offers a different balance of weight, power, and runtime.
- Assist Slim is generally for the performance rider wanting assisted pop-ups only.
- Assist MAX provides a balance of power and endurance for all-round use.
- Fusion offers the power and runtime of an eFoil with the lightness and adaptability of an Assist.
FOIL DRIVE ASSIST MAX
Assist Slim is lighter and ideal for shorter, more agile sessions, while Assist MAX offers more power and longer ride time.
The Slim is perfect when you want minimal weight and simple assisted performance, while the MAX provides a balanced mix of power, runtime, and versatility for a wider range of riding styles.

CARBON BOARDS
Here is a few tips to keep your board in great condition:
Be careful with the bottom - The deck of the board is made stronger than the bottom, so be careful with the bottom. It’s strong, but it could dent slightly when struck with a hard object. This does not effect the performance of the board, but to minimize this, always carry your Appletree kite surfboard with the deck towards you and your harness. Do not drop the board and try not to land or stand on the bottom.
Nothing is indestructible - Appletree Surfboards are the best in producing strong and light boards. The board is fine to jump with as long as it’s a kite+ or foil construction. Freestyle kiteboarding or wing foiling is not a problem, but try to land with kite or wing support and if coming down really hard, do not land on the board. The warranty is limited to one year from the purchase date and does not cover the board or foil breaking from jumping.
Don’t ride it too shallow - The fin boxes, fins, foil boxes or foils don’t like to hit the sand, so be careful and only use the board in water deep enough to clear your foil and definitely do not ride it up the beach.
Handle your gear with care - Always use a decent board bag when traveling or transporting the board. Clean the sand and salt off and rinse the board and foil with fresh tap water every so often. Take your foil out regularly to prevent salt build up and corrosion. It's best to rinse any aluminium fuselage and mast after every use. Use Tefgel on screws to avoid seizing. Follow the instructions that came with your gear, the manufacturer knows best how to take care of it.
Fix it - If the board is damaged or dinged, fix it or have it fixed, with epoxy resin only. Polyester will seriously damage the foam core. The 50K foam in your board is waterproof, so water will only penetrate the surface of the foam, which will easily evaporate. We do advise to repair as soon as possible.
